The queen of sweatshirts, Agnès B. in her first boutique in Paris, 1976
Hi, Everyone! We’ve been thinking a lot lately about a truly fabulous GRAY SWEATSHIRT. When you get it right, there’s nothing better or more gamine. Just check out the French designer Agnès B. above in the ‘70s looking parfaite.
The gray sweatshirt is a universal piece that everyone should have in their repertoire. An icon of American sportswear, it instantly adds a devil-may-care vibe to anything you mix it with. It’s fun with silk pajama pants or thrown over a fancy party dress. It’s also perfection with mussed-up hair, high-waisted jeans and some good pendant jewels.
Like any true wardrobe staple, it’s just as easy to find a really bad gray sweatshirt as it is to find a really good one. Each of us have picked a favorite, including one from our latest capsule collection of vintage gray sweatshirts. (We also have rugbys, wool picnic blankets, Oxfords, boat n’ totes and more. Check them out!)
Warning: we finally took pictures of ourselves wearing things! Eeek! We hate showing snaps of ourselves but thought it might be fun for you to see things on US.
With love and sweat,
Alexa, Courtney & Aaron
